Jelba has been in good form on the AW during the winter with three victories at Lingfield. He was also successful on turf at Newmarket last summer and is off the same mark here so must be on the short list. Double Splendour has not been seen since taking a boy's event at Newmarket in August and will probably need the run but he goes well on fast ground. Sussex Ladwas runner up in a big field at Kempton when drawn on the wrong side of the track. He has since finished just behind Teyaar when they were placed at Lingfield and there will be precious little between them again. Pax showed promise on his first outing for David Nicholls before winning at Southwell where he beat Red Lion by three lengths and he can confirm that form as he has since finished a close second at Thirsk. Prix Star won three times last summer over this trip and caught the eye when fin finishing well into third place in a boy's race over the minimum 5F trip on his reappearance- the form of which got a hefty boost when the winner bolted up in stronger company at Epsom in mid week.
