Another chance is taken with Morse, who ran an encouraging race at Folkestone earlier in the month. Out After Dark rates as the biggest danger and is taken to confirm his superiority over Pinchbeck and Morgan Lewis, who can scrap it out for the minor honours. The last named is only lightly raced and is at the right end of the handicap to pick up an early season prize. However, he has been off since last September and might just be in need of the outing. Pinchbeck acts well on the predicted going and can figure strongly if he is on a going day. However, he has never won off a mark this high and others may have his measure. Out After Dark also crept up the weights last season after winning at Sandown and shapes as if he can continue to pay his way. The burden of top weight does not make his task an easy one though and he needs everything to drop into place for him. Cd Flyer is also worth a mention, as he is usually better after his seasonal reappearance. Still he could do with a little respite from the handicapper and may be one to just watch today. Therefore the vote goes to Morse, who has been given a chance off his current rating and will be very hard to get past if he runs up to the level of his reappearance effort today.
