Once again the female brigade being catered for here, this time a maiden over five furlongs with many top stables represented. All bar four are newcomers, although Predict, one of those with racecourse experience is likely to head the market. That experience gives her an immediate edge over her rivals although that maiden which she contested first time out did not look anything out of the ordinary and it is possibly that this five furlongs will be on the sharp side. With that in mind we'll give the tentative vote to Bryan Smart's Exceed And Excel filly, Exceedingly Good, in the hope that she is aptly named. The yard have a smart bunch of juveniles at their disposal this season and support for Exceedingly Good would be significant. The Gosden yard also saddle a well bred filly in Anjuna although a stall 12 draw is far from ideal. Polly's Choice is another newcomer hailing from a yard that can do little wrong with their juveniles and support should be noted. Black Salix was far from in an above average Thirsk maiden on her debut, the first two home being highly regarded at home. Romantic Queen is has both speed and stamina in her pedigree and while bred to do the job, the yard is not renowned for first time out winners. Maidens at this venue are always worth taking a keen interest in. This fillies maiden should prove no different and Exceedingly Good gets the vote.
