In the finale, Monash Lad is selected ahead of Hawridge King and Shekan Star. Monash Lad is on a roll, having won his last two. Even though the latest of them came in a seller, Mark Tompkin's has been quick to pitch him back into regular handicap company and he looks set to go well. The lightly-raced Gobi King could be open to improvement at this trip, while although still a maiden, Hawridge King has plenty of places to his name and, from his current rating, cannot be ruled out. Shamrock Bay might sneak a place while Shekan Star comes here running well and, from a mark tat still seems fair, is given a good mention but Taxman may be vulnerable from his current mark on Turf. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Monash Lad.
