In an interesting contest, Rationale is selected ahead of Fabrian and Faringdon. Rationale defied greenness, the trip and a race that was probably not run to suit when scoring over a mile here last time. What he did show, though, was a good attitude and, stepping up in distance today, a good run is on the cards. Snowed Under ran well at Newmarket last time form his revised mark, although the handicapper took a dim view of his win. Cripsey Brook keeps rattling the crossbar from his current rating, so cannot be ruled out, while Fabrian's good Ascot run suggested that a step up to today's trip would be useful, so he is respected. Finally, Faringdon improved for the step up to 10 furlongs last time to win his maiden at Windsor and is entitled to thought based on that. Overall, though, we will stick with Rationale.
