July Jasmine may be able to make a winning debut but is likely to face some competition from Bessie Lou and Mooteah amongst others. The selection is selected in part due to the reasons pointed out in the preview for the first division of the maiden. It also helps that she's impeccably bred and that her half-brother Rob Roy also made a winning debut. No doubt the market will provide us with some indication of expectations. As well as Bessie Lou fared when finishing fourth on quick ground at Haydock in a fair contest the one that's feared most on the limited evidence is Mooteah who was well backed on debut. The Sakhee filly wasn't asked too many questions at Newmarket but did some excellent work in the closing stages. She's brilliantly bred, did hold a Fillies Mile entry and will be hard to keep out of the frame if heading the right way. Brilliana and Mezenah are two others to keep an eye on but Sir Michael Stoute's record in the race means that JULY JAMSINE is preferred to Mooteah.
