PHILLIPINA could be all the rage here and is selected ahead of Burgundy Ice, Piquante and the other likely looking newcomers. Sir Michael Stoute landed both divisions of this maiden in 2005 and also tasted success last year and in 2001 and 2. The selection was weak in the market ahead of her debut at Newbury but shaped encouragingly, wasn't beaten far and can find the necessary improvement. It looks significant that she made her debut in a conditions race rather than a maiden and the form has already received a few boosts with the runner-up going on to finish within 3 lengths of the winner in a Group 3 and the fourth winning a nursery from a mark of 87. West With The Wind finished in midfield in what may prove to be a fair race and is considered but the remainder with experience appear to be up against it. There are some choicely bred sorts amongst the newcomers and the usual suspects should be monitored for support but this opportunity looks tailor made for Phillipina.
