In depth

Verdict

It is interesting that Pat Haslam brings Royal Master back to the flat following a recent victory over the jumps and off today's weight he looks the one to be on, Press Express and Northside Lodge are also expected to run well. The selection landed some hefty bets when winning a juvenile hurdle at Market Rasen and had previously performed with credit on the level when second in a competitive race at Pontefract. Off bottom weight today he should have a major chance. Press Express comes here in good form having comfortably landed a Newcastle handicap last time and he should go close in his follow up bid. Meanwhile Northside Lodge has been knocking on the door recently and cannot easily be dismissed. The pick of the remainder could be Hatch A Plan, but at the weights today Royal Master is hard to ignore and gets our vote.
