In depth

Verdict

Another competitive handicap and we will take a chance with Glencalvie, Remington and Big Bradford could be the main dangers. John Akehurst has been amongst the winners recently and Glencalvie has shown enough in two races this season to suggest he could add to the trainers tally. His recent third behind Border Edge should have brought him to peak fitness and as he is lightly raced anyway he should be capable of plenty of improvement. Remington is very hard to assess as he won first time up at Chepstow, beating the 69 rated White Bear. He should be capable of more and may have been let in here quite lightly. Big Bradford is steadily returning to his best form and it would be no surprise to see this one involved in the finish. The best of the others could be Mark Johnston's King Of Love, but we expect Glencalvie to defy top-weight and take first prize.
