Gift Horse is more than capable of taking the honours in this contest and showed signs of a return to form at Epsom last month but a better bet looks to be the in-form Toms Laughter, who gets the vote ahead of Dickie Le Davoir. The last mentioned was good value for his win here last month and has to be respected but a 9lb rise for that success seems harsh in the extreme so he may be best watched. David Barron's Ingleby Princess bounced back to form when landing a Hamilton handicap last time and has to be respected in receipt of weight all round having been raised just 4lbs for that success. Ralph Beckett's Prince Of Delphi has shown a consistent level of form and should again be thereabouts but it is Toms Laughter that gets the verdict. The four-year-old has been in fine form this season having won five times since the turn of the year and losing no caste in defeat behind Peter Island at Warwick last time. He can go one better today.
