In depth

Verdict

This is likely to depend upon whether THEYDON THUNDER can handle the forecast ground as he's yet to compete on anything other than good to soft. Well placed by the underrated Peter Charalambous to score at Newmarket and Yarmouth the last twice, he houses room for plenty more improvement despite a 9lb rise for his latest success and is taken to complete a three-time in the hands of the up-and-coming George Wood in the hope he'll handle the softened terrain. Playful Dude should be noted on this handicap bow after showing promise in maidens but recent course and distance winner, Imperial Link, rates the leading danger as that recent success here came on heavy ground. Strathearn remains in a hunt for form and Ada Misobel and Divine Touch are more obvious place options.
