Doubtful Sound is the selection to win an intriguing seller where there are several taking a slight drop in class. Doubtful Sound, is a four time winner with some good efforts in handicaps to his credit, and he won a claimer last time over this trip, although that was on fast ground. He has to concede weight to his rivals, and a chance is taken that he can handle this easier surface, and maintain his winning form. Swift Cut drops to this grade for the first time. He ran well in a decent Chepstow handicap last time, beaten only six lengths. He has been running over further before that and may not have been seen to best effect. Swift Cut looks capable of playing a part here but may have to settle for a place. Avertitop would have an outstanding chance here on last season's juvenile form but he has been seen only once since July, finishing second last in a Windsor handicap. He needs to improve on that but this is major drop in grade. Rainbow Bay is also interesting, dropping to selling class after some respectable efforts. He handles cut in the ground and it would be no surprise to see him in the shake up but preference is for last time out winner Doubtful Sound to win again.
