Verdict

Barry Geraghty has chosen Marchese Marconi of the two JP McManus-owned entries at the top of the weights though both face extremely tough tasks. VALYSSA MONTERG went to the Galway Festival for a very strong handicap with a promising run behind her and ran a superb race to see off the attentions of Argentino, who was racing off levels and beaten just over two lengths. The pair meet again with the runner-up 4lb better off and there should be little between them again so it would be no surprise if they fought out the finish. Plain Sailing was having his first start for two years and making his debut for Shark Hanlon when just failing to reel in Beckwith Star over the minimum at Galway. If he stays the extra he'll be a threat while Powersbomb was impressive over 2m4f at the Festival, though has been raised 10lb as a consequence.
