Todber is marginally preferred to Blitzen and Bluejain with Welsh Opera and Coach And Four others to consider. Marcus Tregoning's filly couldn't muster the pace to be competitive over six furlongs at Lingfield but this step up to a mile should see her in a better light. She had shown glimpses of ability in maidens and should be able to find a race at this level. Her high draw swung the vote in her favour and away from Blitzen who has just his second start for Tom Dascombe this evening. The fledgling trainer continues to make waves and there should be a lot more to come from Blitzen now that he tackles a trip more in line with his breeding for the first time but stall three makes Ross Atkinson's job that little bit harder. There was a lot to like about Bluejain's win at Catterick and he is only 1lb higher but a repeat of the slow start which nearly cost him dear that day could prove to be his downfall this evening. Coach And Four may improve for the application of cheekpieces and Welsh Opera may benefit from the return to racing on this surface but there are fewer doubts concerning Todber and she is preferred.
