    Verdict

There are just the five runners for this novice event but it provides plenty of interest and is a race in which we think that The Crooked Ring might just be able to concede weight to, principally, Gee Bee Em and Amazin. The selection's form is solid, having been placed three times and winning once from four career starts. Admittedly, the bare form of his Warwick win last time is nothing out of the ordinary but he will be more at home over today's five furlongs, has the invaluable assistance of Kieren Fallon and will not shirk if it comes to a battle. Richard Hannon's Amazin showed plenty of promise on his Windsor debut and, seeing that his stablemate Grand Place - who was unplaced that night - will by no have run in the previous race, you will be able to get an idea as to the value of that contest's form, while Gee Bee Em followed up a fair Goodwood debut by winning at Bath although, once again, the form of the bare race is run-of-the-mill. John Dunlop's Goodwood Spirit is a half-brother to four winners and Roger Charlton's All Ivory also possesses winning blood, so watch the betting with regard to the chances of these newcomers but, for today, we will side with The Crooked Ring.
