INQUISITRESS is taken to resume winning ways back over an ideal trip here with Confide In Me and Fine Ruler heading the list of likely dangers. The selection is at home on artificial surfaces having gained all six of her wins on them she looks reasonably handicapped here, just 4lb higher than when readily scoring when last running over course and distance. That victory under today's pilot Marc Halford suggested a small rise in the weights might not prevent more success and whilst the horse has been held since those efforts have been in slightly more competitive affairs and, as a winner off 2lbs higher here last summer there may just be room for manoeuvre off 52. Gerard Butler's Confide In Me rates a danger having won recently off just 2lbs lower. That effort was at Wolverhampton over slightly further and today's drop in distance is definitely a negative but the expected strong pace should see this ones stamina brought into play late on and a high ranking beckons for this relatively lightly-raced five-year-old. Fine Ruler is another horse whose best efforts have come on the all-weather and the gelding should have a chance here racing off a mark of 58, having won off 56 when last seen over course and distance. Not beaten far off 59 last time the handicapper has perhaps been kind in dropping the horse a pound. Of the others Kaballero is interesting as a well-handicapped horse who likes it here but Steve Gollings' inmate has an absence of over a year to overcome, Efficiency is feasibly treated but has been running poorly of late and Hereford Boy looks better over shorter and so for the winner we return to Inquisitress.
