Verdict

In a tricky race, the shortlist contains Evident Pride, Jordan's Light and Smokin Joe, with the vote going to Evident Pride. Raised three pounds for a narrow Wolverhampton win, Evident Pride's chance is respected dropping back in distance today, while Hurricane Coast would hold a chance if recapturing his best form. Jordan's Light scrambled home here four days ago but a penalty will not make life easy, even though he cannot be ruled out of things. King's Account would hold claims based on his best two-year-old form but hasn't seemed as good in two three-year-old starts yet, while Magic Warrior was beaten off his revised mark last time so maybe has something to prove now, although he is a consistent type. Mythical Charm apparently bounced back to form last time and can be fancied if in the same mood again (bear in mind that, at the time of writing, she was also down to run on Monday), and Napoletano could be fancied on his German form but showed little on his British debut. Parkview Love is closing in on a Wolverhampton winning mark so can be fancied on that basis, and the lightly-raced Princess Lavinia showed some hope for the future in her last race and ought to have better to come. Finally, Smokin Joe ran well from today's mark last time, Smart Ass is generaly consistent on the all-weathwer and Speckled Hen might be worth a cursory look in the betting on her British debut. Overall, though, we will stick with Evident Pride.
