Not a great contest and one where recent winners The Grey One and Simpsons Gamble will probably be popular with punters, but we are going to take a chance on JIGGALONG. Jim Best's filly has been out of sorts on two recent starts here, both over significantly further than this, and she may just not be ready to go that far at the moment. Dropped back to this trip and down to a mark of 57, 2lbs below the pitch from which she ran well in a Redcar handicap in August, she might just be capable of coming back to form from a good draw. The Grey One has 6lbs more to shoulder than when narrowly scoring at Wolverhampton last week. He has won around here, but is definitely better at Dunstall Park, and we will take him on. Simpsons Gamble has run well in defeat here in handicaps but never won anything but a maiden at the track, and while he is going well enough at present his current mark looks prohibitive today. Burn Brake went well when just outside the frame in a similar contest earlier in the month and his only win was from 7lbs higher last year, while course and distance scorer Sovereignty is just 2lbs higher than his most recent success here, which came in July, so cannot be discounted. Shake On It represents a yard whose few recent runners have gone well, so a market check is advised, but Jiggalong is the suggestion tonight.
