An interesting nursery for the track where FLEETING ECHO is the selection to turn the tables on Freeforaday, while Gouray Girl and Marine Spirit are respected. The last-named sports first-time headgear and represents Godolphin, who have done well with their juveniles this time. The American-bred colt has not quite been up to it in two nurseries since landing a Folkestone maiden over this trip in August, being a beaten favourite on both occasions. The headgear may help sharpen his focus and he is respected from a 2lbs lower mark. Gouray Girl is 5lbs higher than when runner-up at Goodwood last time, but she still looks capable of improving and after just two starts is not one to be writing off lightly here. Freeforaday is 4lbs worse off with the selection for finishing threequarters-of-a-length ahead of him at Newbury earlier in the month and it should be close enough between the pair of them. However, we are taking the literal interpretation of that form and siding with Richard Hannon's charge. The filly is now 17lbs higher than her only nursery success, but she has run some very competitive races while climbing the weights and this could be her night. Chips O'Toole has a very solid profile but an unkind draw, while Sir Mark Prescott hopes that headgear for the first time will get course and distance maiden winner Interlace back on the right track, and money for her would be interesting. Fleeting Echo is the one for us.
