In depth

Verdict

Viscountess is selected ahead of Key News and Elzeeza. The Mark Johnston filly is bred to be better with a winter on her back and with the Middleham based handler sending out plenty of winners at the moment, we'll take the hint. Key News has had two unsuccessful tries at Southwell so connections are hoping that a change of surface works. Elzeeza is bred to winners over further and is one to note in the market. Frivolous shaped well on the turf at Newbury and will make a valuable broodmare in time. Higland Venture comes from a family stacked with seven furlong winners and is another to note in the event of any market support. Viscountess has obvious questions to answer after an inauspicious debut but she looks best equipped to do so.
