Verdict

With a good record at this track and off a fair rating CROSS THE LINE should do that in front of the others in a wide open handicap with Sapphire Prince and Resplendent Nova putting in late bids to deny him. Returning from nearly a year out the selection goes well fresh and only found a couple too good off this mark last time. Both of his last starts, the pair of them over course and distance, have a solid look about them and a similar effort again might be good enough. Both Sapphire Prince and Resplendent Nova do their best work late in the day so both might have causde a quandary to the assessor after narrow wins last time. Out of the pair Sapphire Prince looks the biggest danger, who on his turf form is really well weighted. Whodunit beat home a next time up winner when in second place last time out and based on his penaultimate start when he was a very taking winner there could be more to come but with him up in the weights again we prefer the profile of Cross The Line.
