Jim Best's GAMESTERS LADY won with any amount in hand when successful at Plumpton last week and she can defy the penalty for that success so gets the vote with the main dangers rated as Sawpit Supreme and Carrig An Uisce. Anna Brooks' gelding has been running consistently well of late and can race off the same mark as when a close up fifth behind French Leave at Exeter earlier this month and he should be thereabouts again. Don McCain has his string in good heart so Woodcraft has to be considered but he needs to improve on all known form to trouble the judge. Tony Carroll's Danse Macabre has been well held in recent starts and is hard to recommend, while Janet's Delight showed little sign of encouragement in a recent start on the flat. The Venetia Williams-trained Sawpit Supreme is less exposed than most of these after just seven starts and has to be considered with the stable in good form but he needs to improve and a better bet looks to be Gamestars Lady, who can follow up her Plumpton win.
