Harry Chisman's Outclass ran much better at Chepstow last time and has claims following that improved performance but it is hard to get away from Julian Smith's MERRY MUSIC, who escapes a penalty for his win in a conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at Towcester last time and he can follow up racing off the same mark today with the main danger rated as Kahsabelle. Venetia Williams' gelding has dropped to a decent mark and has solid claims with the stable's runners in good from, although he may prefer a softer surface. The Seamus Mullins-trained Alldunnandusted has chances if able to reproduce the form shown when successful at Plumpton in November but he has struggled against the handicapper since that success and is likely to do so again. Michael Scudamore's Command Marshal showed signs of a return to form at Stratford earlier this month and has to be considered but he seems too high in the weights, while Sean Thornton is lightly raced but Bob Buckler's gelding needs to improve on all known form if he is to trouble the selection, Merry Music.
