In a wide open handicap that opens up the card Carr Hill is significantly up in the weights despite defeat last time so instead we turn to ALFREDTHEORDINARY, who looks better treated after his own mark rise for his silver medal performance, while Major Promise isn't ruled out. Versatile as far as the all-weather surfaces are concerned the pick has a likeable consistent profile having finished no more than a length and a half away in each of his last four runs. The handicapper isn't doing him any favours putting up his burden by a further two pounds after another near miss but it might be the case he's better treated than the others. Carr Hill was only a head away from scoring last time and the form has been given time to develop into some solid lines. He's had a bit of a break since but if in the same mood he should go well but now four pounds heavier he might just miss out again. Major Promise has looked mildly progressive at this track in two starts since returning from a break and off the same mark as when finding just the one too good last time he is a live contender. New World Order is one of just two in the field with course and distance winning form and can be thought well of under this burden while Catholic Hill should be seen in a better light with a few pounds removed from his shoulders. A tough start but Alfredtheordinary looks just about the best treated on current from.
