A tricky race to get a handle on but off bottom weight FANTASY GLADIATOR looks marginally the best treated. With most of the leading protagonists going up significantly in weights the selection's 1lb for his defeat over slightly shorter here last time looks fair. He was running on well that day so the step up in trip looks the right move. In contrast Primaeval is up 4lb for a narrow defeat last time, although, James Fanshawe's runner is on an improving run of form. Red Gulch didn't win by much at Newcastle on his last run so the extra weight he has to carry might stop a repeat while Samarinda will have to improve after winning in plating company.
