      Verdict

Overnight rain will determine exactly how many of the fourteen runners will make the final line up. But assuming that there is sufficient cut in the ground for Maid To Treasure to take her chance, she is selected in preference to Godolphin's Arctic Silk and Whole Grain, who looks the pick of Sir Michael Stoute's pair if jockey bookings are anything to go on. Whereas it is reasonable to assume that a number of the rest are long-term prospects that should be noted for signs of interest in the betting market today - Disparity and Tartouche heading the list as they both hail from shrewd yards that are in fair form again. The market will also give a good indication as to what is expected of Arctic Silk, who, being the first foal of 1,000 Guineas winner Cape Verdi, makes plenty of appeal on breeding. The trip is a little bit of an imponderable for her and she may be best watched in spite of her stable's strike-rate with their younger horses this season. Therefore, we take the experience of Maid To Treasure to come into play to the best effect this evening. The form of her latest start has a solid feel to it and is as good a line to use from the form book at this stage. That run is expected to have done her the power of good and she could be a very different proposition here. Arctic Silk is the obvious one to side with if John Dunlop takes the view that the ground will be too firm for Maid To Treasure though and a very keen eye should be kept on the betting before the off.
