A 'Barney' alert for this race, he runs Zabeel Palace so the betting has to be watched, but the form horse appears to be Speagle, who gets the vote ahead of Prince Charlemagne. Speagle is from a yard enjoying a wonderful spell on the all-weather this winter and he landed three races on the trot at the end of last year. In the last event at Southwell he slaughtered a decent looking field and although punished by the handicapper, he should still be capable of going in again. Zabeel Palace returns to the flat following a fruitless spell over hurdles and doesn't look too harshly treated. If there is a rush of money for this one take note. Prince Charlemagne's last victory came off a mark of 80 and so he has obvious claims at present and didn't run too badly last time out. Meanwhile Economic is from a yard that keep popping up with big priced winners, so he can't esasily be dismissed. However Speagle went from strength to strength last year and he can continue the winning sequence this afternoon.
