      Verdict

Firework rolled back the years to win last time out but may struggle to follow up this afternoon and preference is for Christan Bendix, with Mind Alert also expected to run well. The selection returned to winning ways at Southwell last month and didn't do too badly under a penalty last time out when fourth in a better race than this. He still looks on a winning mark and should take all the beating. Firework gained his first victory for almost two years when beating Champions Way in a tight finish over the seven furlong trip here last time. Back in handicap company over this shorter trip he may find things more difficult. Mind Alert has let supporters down on more than one occasion this season but must have claims in this pretty modest event. The pick of the others could be Balian, but on this occasion we will side with Christian Bendix.
