Hatch A Plan is taken to land the penultimate event of the card at the expense of Otaki and Fantasy Ride. The gelding isn't the easiest of rides but Neil Chalmers managed to coax him to victory at the track despite a poor start and it could be worth taking the chance that the handicapper has not had a chance to assess him appropriately because of this. As ever, Otaki cannot be discounted as a first-time handicapper for Sir Mark Prescott. The Baronet has him stepped up in trip and off a plater's mark. Fantasy Ride has dropped significantly down the handicap of late and wouldn't be without a chance if putting his best foot forward. Jeff Pearce's horses have been noted as running particularly well of late. Wee Charlie Castle does not win very often but can give each-way backers a fair run for their money. Sagunt was running in Group races in Germany and while his hurdling career has looked a none starter, he did land an event over a mile at Brighton. Sir Haydn has won over hurdles of late and the visor that has accompanied his recent runs on the level, remains. A low grade affair and Hatch A Plan is the pick.
