A watch-the-market race with MIDNIGHT OPERA making the most appeal at the expense of The Reformer and Carabinier. Neil Mullholland's gelding has the edge of experience on these rivals having had three runs in bumpers. The yard had a welcome winner last week and at the odds, he makes plenty of appeal. The Reformer's dam won over 1m5f in France. Related to a number of winning two milers in the provinces, it would be no surprise to see him taking a hand. Nicky Henderson won this last year so Carabinier has to be respected. He made the princely sum of 48,000 at the Doncaster sales last year. That pales into insignificance in comparison to Deputy Dog. From a strong Aga Khan bloodline, he could literally be anything. Pride In Battle is a half-brother to Afarad though he is yet to realise that level of potential thus far. Midnight Opera makes most appeal in a race likely to produce a number of winners.
