In depth

Verdict

Richard Hannon can land this event with LITTLE BLACKNUMBER; the list of dangers is headed by Taurus Twins and Lovely Steps. The selection did not have much luck last time out when she finished fifth behind Mr Willis at Lingfield over 7f. The drop back to this trip should suit and she looks worth persevering with. Taurus Twins was having his first start in seven months when he finished in mid-division at Southwell last time. He ran well for a long way in that contest and he should come on for the blow-out so he is not one to dismiss lightly today. Lovely Steps brought up the rear at Lingfield last time but that race has worked out quite well and she is worth considering on her handicap debut. Valdemar ran well for a long way at Southwell last time before fading close home. The blinkers seemed to work the oracle that day and if the cheek-pieces do the same job tonight then she can go well. A tight race to call and the vote is given to Little Blacknumber.
