Verdict
SWEET AVON is given the nod ahead of Old Devil Moon and the consistent Exceed Power. Matthew Salaman's Avonbridge filly shaped with promise in three maidens before filling third spot behind Orsett Lad on her handicap bow. She is able to race off the same mark today and despite her wide draw she should run well. Mind The Monarch has been in consistent form this season, Bertie Buckle tries the blinkers for the first time after two average efforts, whilst Old Devil Moon is back from an absence and shapes as if this handicap mark is within his reach. Back On ran in some good races last summer and needs a market check as he is visored on this first start for a new yard, Exceed Power is the most consistent but is still a maiden after 10 starts, whilst Dolly Will Do holds a couple of her rivals on their run behind Rightcar last time out. Not a strong race, and a chance for Sweet Avon to get off the mark.
