    Verdict

Scary is easily the most interesting runner in a weak maiden such as this. Aldbury Grey and Highest Esteem can exploit any weakness shown by the selection, while Auntie Mame has very little to find to get into the frame and could be good value for each-way backers to consider. Highest Esteem improved for the step up in trip last time out and has claims now that his stamina is proven. Watch the market carefully where he is concerned. Aldbury Grey sets the standard on the BHA ratings but showed very little on his reappearance last week. Still, he was entitled to be in need of the run after a very long absence, so all is not lost with the son of Alhaarth. However, Scary - a half-brother to both Strategic Mount and Strategic Choice - makes the most appeal on grounds of potential. Paul Cole is adept at getting one ready first time out and, as this is a particularly ordinary contest, it would hardly be a shock if Scary outclassed this lot even though it is safe to assume he is likely to be better with a run under his belt.
