Verdict
A decent and competitive looking handicap with Krugerrand, Ofaraby and Spanish Dan all worthy of mention but the vote goes to the very much inform jockey and horse combination of Frankie Dettori and Hawridge Prince. A winner at Windsor as a 3 year old Hawridge Prince has improved beyond belief with another year on his back. He ran on well to win first time of asking at Newbury back in May and followed up on that success at Salisbury last time out when beating Blue Mariner by a very easy and convincing 6 lengths. Although the handicapper has taken note and therefore risen in the weights we feel his is still one step ahead and is taken to score again. Krugerrand won well on his penultimate start at York but was beaten into third place at Windsor on his latest run which suggests he may be within the handicappers grasp. Ofaraby has been running consistently well this season and did win a Class D contest at Newcastle earlier in the year but with top weight to carry will find this tougher. Spanish Dan is another to have on the short list as he comes from a yard in form and won well at Kempton last time out. The worry is he is often inconsistent and is no certainty to follow up and for that reason for the winner we return to the in form Hawridge Prince.
