In depth

Verdict

This has the look of a very open maiden and the market will be useful in establishing the chances of the newcomers, however without that information we will side with Ellemujie ahead of Cosmic Art and Classical Rhythm. The selection ran very green on debut when finishing down the field, with Cosmic Art in front of him. He has claims of reversing those placing as he looked sure to improve plenty on that first run and the step up a furlong also looks sure to suit. The progeny of his sire Mujahid normally improve with time and although Dean Ivory is yet to have a two-year-old winner this season, he has a good chance today. Cosmic Art comes from a stable whose horses normally improve greatly for their first run and so he warrants utmost respect although the feeling is that he may just be too short in the betting after just one run. Straight And Level has the most experience of those who have raced and has a shown a decent, if unspectacular level of form. he was well-held at Brighton last week on his first try at this trip but Brighton is a funny course and he may be better suited by today's more conventional track. Classical Rhythm was unfancied on debut but shaped with a degree of promise so the booking of Eddie Ahern could be significant. At a price It's My Day could run a big race on debut, however Ellemujie is taken to land the spoils.
