Verdict

ICE ROYAL was well supported on his debut at Wolverhampton and beat a 72-rated rival in a tight finish so a mark of 73 for his handicap debut looks reasonable. He has a wide draw to overcome but is taken to remain unbeaten. Cee Jay made a promising start on this track and has done little wrong in two starts on Turf, the latest on heavy ground. He's well drawn and will make a bold bid. The beautifully-bred Dose has shown enough to warrant respect from this mark while Clodianna also makes her handicap debut and looks the type to do better. Sir Roger Moore had run in some tough maidens on Turf before a promising Polytrack debut at Lingfield and is another who can get involved.
