This could prove a much better than average maiden for the track and it's another John Gosden-trainer newcomer who can come out on top. KHOR AL UDAID cost 215,000gns as a foal but three times that amount as a yearling and he's a half-brother to seven winners and out of a mare who won on Dirt in the USA. Godolphin's Short Distance is another first-timer to note though his pedigree is all about middle-distances while another newcomer, Hereward The Wake, is a half-brother to eight winners including a Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner. Cape Banjo couldn't quite hold the late thrust of Marylebone over 7f here a month ago and can be expected to improve while Towerlands Park ran a fine race in a big field at Newbury and can make enough progress to get into the frame.
