In depth

Verdict

Little Carmela can beat her mainly older rivals including Ile Michel, Missie Baileys and Mae Cigan to name but a few. Little Carmela has gone extremely close to breaking her duck on each of last two starts at Brighton, and this lightly-raced three-year-old should be followed to score sooner rather than later. Unlucky-in-running on both occasions, she has a sweet draw in stall 13, and is at the right end of the handicap. She has leading claims, and any support in the ring for the Stuart Williams-trained filly should be noted. Ile Michel was given an inspired ride by William Buick to register his first victory in four years at Lingfield in June, and is not guaranteed to repeat the feat, while Missie Baileys is at the right end of the handicap, but was beaten in a seller at Brighton last time. Mae Cigan has saved his best efforts for testing ground on Turf, but is another that can not be totally ruled out of a play for the places at least. However, Little Carmela has been catching the eye and gets our vote in the finale.
