In depth

Verdict

Gilded Youth let his supporters down last time, but can make amends here, with Far Seeking, Towy Girl, and newcomer Rollin 'N Tumblin perhaps the ones to make a race of it with with Henry Candy's charge. Having finished a very close second at Leicester on his return to action, Gilded Youth was fancied to go one better when lining up at Goodwood next time, but he was done for toe by two rivals, and in truth was disappointing. However, he will be spot on now, and with a furlong extra to travel, must surely make a bold bid to make amends. It is hard to fancy any of these ahead of him, and he is a fairly confident selection. Far Seeking has shown nothing in two starts to date, but will at least qualify for handicaps after today, while hopefully Towy Girl will be fully recovered from a broken blood vessel incurred at Chepstow. She was quite progressive last year, and should be placed to good effect in due course. Rollin 'N Tumblin is an unknown quantity, but is well drawn and has the assistance of Seb Sanders, so any support for him should be heeded. Gilded Youth has already shown a glimmer of promise though and is the percentage call.
