In depth

Verdict

Not a strong handicap for the grade and it is with some trepidation that we plump for recent winner SILENT ACT in the hope that a repeat of her last run here will be good enough to seal another win. Amanda Perrett's filly has a 6lb penalty for her maiden win last time out when she got off the mark at the eighth time of asking. This expensive purchase ($300,000) may be a different force with her confidence now boosted and she should run a big race. Hazy Dancer has ability but her record is very hit and miss and she doesn't instil confidence despite a falling handicap mark, so a bigger threat may be Sapphire Prince who represents an in-form stable and he may have more to offer over this new trip. Altimatum has become disappointing and now faces a stiff question upped in trip, Key Regard may be happier back on an artificial surface after a fruitless spell over hurdles, whilst Mannlichen and Capitelli are both edging down the weights and any sustained market support would look interesting. A tricky contest, but the filly Silent Act can win again.
