Competitive stuff and ARABIAN SPIRIT is narrowly preferred to Cave Lion and Stalking Shadow. Ed Dunlop's charge may have had a few names called after a string of second placings but those have obtained through consistency rather than any lack of will to win. He finished ahead of Summerstrand when the pair last met and was guilty on that occasion of only finding one horse ahead of him that had been let in lightly by the handicapper. Cave Lion struggled under a penalty here last month. His rider can claim a couple of extra pounds here but more is needed to take this contest. Stalking Shadow has gone up 10lb for a success at Salisbury. He does not appear to be the easiest of rides so Tony Culhane appears an ideal booking. Soft Shoe Shuffle drops back in trip having campaigned over further of late. Timetable is quirky and is very much in need of the headgear he wears. Hold The Gold was entitled to need the run on his most recent start but today will be the acid test as to whether he's trained on. Ellemujie is best of the rest. Arabian Spirit is selected in a race where many hold obvious formbook claims.
