The well bred Lombok is entitled to be in the mix if handling the surface but he hasn't always impressed with his resolution and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Perception has shown a consistent level of form recently and merits respect but there may be one or two better handicapped runners in the field. Ramora makes some appeal on her first start since leaving Henry Cecil but she does have an absence to overcome and a more tempting option is BABILU. She could hardly be described as reliable but she did go close over course and distance on her penultimate start in cheekpieces; the headgear was left off last time but she is now tried in first time blinkers and they may enable her to double her tally. Gandalf is better than the bare form of his latest run suggests with Dark Energy, Wester Ross and Naughty Naughty others to consider.
