Verdict

SPLASH POINT is the one to beat here despite a wide draw. Mahmood Al Zarooni's 300,000gns colt was backed into favouritism ahead of his Haydock debut and ran well considering he saw plenty of daylight on the outside, suggesting he'd be tough to beat wherever he turned up next. Aloneinthestreet is by the same sire as Splash Point and may represent the biggest threat, despite the fact the yard's juveniles haven't exactly fired this year. He's the full brother to a debut winner and market support would be worthy of note, as it would for Halfsin whose yard does very well here. Tick Tock Lover is closely matched with Splash Point on a line through the horse he took second to last time and therefore also enters calculations; he may be sent off at inflated odds on account of his breeding and connections.
