started slowly, always rear, no chance when lost action over 1f out, virtually pulled up
pushed along behind mid-division, never dangerous final 2f
led until headed just over 1f out, soon no chance with winner
mid-division, ridden over 1f out, kept on final furlong to take 3rd final strides
chased leading pair, no impression over 1f out, kept on one pace, lost 3rd final strides
slowly into stride, outpaced and always behind
held up behind mid-division, never troubled leaders and one pace from over 1f out
mid-division, kept on from over 1f out, never nearer
started slowly, always in rear, struggling final 2f, never dangerous
chased leaders to 2f out, weakened quickly well over 1f out
December 2007 is the last time that SILVER PRELUDE took gold but that may be about to change; other candidates for that prize include The Magic Blanket and Mac's Power. Stuart Williams has obtained the services of Richard Hughes for his well drawn and well handicapped charge and he has done enough recently to believe that his winless streak could be near an end as he's only been beaten around four lengths on each of his last three starts and may, now, be able to take advantage of his declining mark. The Magic Blanket failed to take off at Warwick but his all-weather record is in stark contrast to his turf one and it may be best to ignore the outing. He's still fairly treated and should go well. Support for Mac's Power on his first foray into handicap company would take the eye as his career best performance came on his only visit here. The majority of his trainer's winners in recent years have been at this track and he shows a level stakes profit. After The Show may respond to blinkers whilst the likes of Multahab, Orpen's Art and Circle Dance all have claims but we like the claims of Silver Prelude.
