In depth

Verdict

Dukes Art has been done no favours by the draw so we'll side with RESPITE in a race where a good number have claims. Supporters of the selection may need to hold their breath as she was held up over seven furlongs last time and failed to get up by a neck. Presuming that she's held up again, she will need to get a bit of luck from her high draw but she's unlucky not to be unbeaten here and looks well enough handicapped. Dukes Art was collared close home over seven and there are concerns about his effectiveness over this trip but he is progressive and goes well here. Cut And Thrust was gambled on last time but failed to overhaul Striding Edge in a race which also featured Best In Class who stayed on from the rear. Cases can be made for all of the runners but the last one that we'll mention is Kiss A Prince who ran on strongly to score at Lingfield over a mile having made the frame here over seven. He's only 5lbs higher and may have more to offer but we'll be hoping that the cards fall right for Respite.
