Empire De Maulde was expected to do better at Newcastle last time having gone close at Doncaster earlier and Grange Ranger failed to build on an earlier second at Wetherby back at the latter track last time. Do Not Disturb looked like finishing second when falling at the last at Newcastle and is upped in class along with Gipsy Lee Rose, runner-up over a longer trip here recently. SIRWILLIAMWALLACE never threatened when third at Carlisle having continually hung left but he’s won over hurdles here and Sandy Thomson’s charge should be in in the mix back at this venue.
