Hitman Fred could give a boost to the point-to-point form of Champagnendiamonds in the first division but this is a contest which also features three winners between the flags. Donald McCain has done well with similar types and saddles SHANTALUZE, who is a full brother to a winning hurdler and a half-brother to two others. A £40,000 purchase, he’s by Shantou so shouldn’t be short of speed. Black Pirate returns from a lay-off but still makes more appeal than stable companion Drenek and the mare Hills Of Connemara.
