In depth

Verdict

The four to look out for are Pay Attention, Cunning Pursuit, Miss Academy and Bolin Thomas with the vote going to the last named. Having won readily last time out at Sedgefield beating Planters Punch by half a length he carries a seven pound penalty this time around so connections must feel that he is still well in. He looks the type to improve with confidence and is taken to follow up and score again. Pay Attention has been a model of consistency of late if not a touch frustrating at times. Since winning last February he has finished second seven times and nine times in his lifetime. His last effort saw him traveling well until finding nothing in the closing stages and for that reason is to be treated with caution. Cunning Pursuit is another frustrating type but could be well treated on some of his early form so is worth noting as is Miss Academy who is trained by David Pipe and any market moves should be noted. But for the winner we return to Bolin Thomas.
