Another Chance just gets the call here over Metal Detector, Don Fernando and Marked Man. The selection won the feature race over hurdles on this card last year and is going the right way over fences judged on his second to a stablemate of Metal Detector at Musselburgh last time. Much as he stays three miles, the drop back in trip should not hinder him too much. Metal Detector was decent over hurdles and, much as he was sloppy at some of his fences when winning at Doncaster last time, will be happier going right handed today, and less testing going will also suit. Don Fernando was a very smart juvenile hurdler, where he won at Grade 2 level, but he was beaten on his chasing debut at Doncaster, although that was a slowly-run affair. He should improve for that experience though and gets a handy weight concession from the field, which makes things interesting. Of the others, Marked Man, a dual hurdles winner, showed some promise on his chasing bow in a fair event at Hereford last time, so do not rule him out of things, while Opal Ridge hails from a canny yard but is likely to need this despite showing promise on his sole run under Rules, which came in a bumper. Overall, though, Another Chance just gets the nod.
