Far Note, Up Tempo, and Gilded Cove are three against the field in a wide-open handicap and the tentative vote goes to Up Tempo. The selection has been in good form of late and was a fair third off this mark behind Mount Royal, the drop back down to six furlongs will help, and with conditions in his favour he is taken to score. Far Note rates the main danger as he was a fair fourth behind Magic Glade last time doing all his best work at the finish, and with the step back up in trip sure to suit he has definite place claims. Gilded Cove was third behind Panjandrum last time but that was in a claimer and this looks more competitive so for that reason he is opposed. Of the remainder, Skip Of Colour won well last time out but may struggle under his penalty, while Sharp Hat has dropped to a handy mark and is worth noting in the market, but for the winner we return to Up Tempo.
